Bluestone

Our inventory of Natural Bluestone is stocked in dimensionally-cut, patterned sizes and in irregular-shaped pieces. Used for both indoor and outdoor spaces, bluestone is easily paired with clay brick and granite to convey the classic, early American look.

What is Bluestone?

Bluestone-General Terms & Facts. This family of stone from the hills of Pennsylvania and New York is all part of the bluestone family. It is available in a variety of colors, sizes, shapes and finishes.

Colors Available. Full Color: Shades of blue/gray, green, lavender, tan and brown.

Blue/Blue. Primarily a hand-selected blue stone with little color variation intended.

Other Surface Finishes Available. Natural Cleft. The natural face of the stone when extracted from the quarry, not perfectly smooth or even.

Thermal Face. The surface has been heated to improve imperfections, making a non-skid, flat surface.

Thickness of Stone. Generally gauged at either 1.5″ or 2″ thick.

Sizes Available. Sizes range from the smallest 12″x12″ size to 36″x36″ pieces. Larger slabs for custom projects are also available.
